Your After-the-Shot Field Guide Is Ready

Use the Guide Before You Need It
1. Rehearse the First Minute
Watch the deer, listen, mark your position, mark where the deer stood, mark the direction it left, reload, and wait.
2. Learn the Evidence
Review what blood, hair, arrow sign, beds, and direction of travel can tell you. Use them as clues, not guarantees.
3. Know When to Back Out
If the evidence says the deer needs more time, backing out is not quitting. It may be the best recovery decision you make.
My Recovery Rule
The deer is the priority. Stay quiet, gather the information, wait when the sign tells you to wait, and search hard when it is time to search.
You will not make every recovery perfect. None of us do. But you can build a better process before the shot ever happens.
