I am trying to understand the difference between draw length and arrow length.  Shouldn’t they be the same?  What is the difference between the two?

Draw length refers to the distance between the bowstring and the grip of the bow when the bow is at full draw. This measurement is important because it affects the amount of energy that can be transferred from the bow to the arrow. If the draw length is too short, the bow will not transfer enough energy to the arrow, and the arrow may not travel as far or as fast as it should. If the draw length is too long, the bow will transfer too much energy to the arrow, which can cause the arrow to fly erratically.

Arrow length, on the other hand, refers to the physical length of the arrow itself. This measurement is important because it affects the stability of the arrow in flight. If the arrow is too short, it may not be stable enough to fly straight and true. If the arrow is too long, it may be too heavy and not fly as far or as fast as it should.

It's important to note that draw length and arrow length are not the same things and they should be measured separately. Your arrow length is not the same length as your draw length.  To determine the correct arrow length, you'll need to use your draw length, the type and position of your arrow rest, and other factors such as the type of arrow you'll be using.
