Weekly Field Notes: Kill Zones, Hunt Plans, and Big System Updates

It’s been a busy week behind the scenes. We made some major progress across both the public blog and the Insider Portal, and if you’re a bowhunter trying to build real strategy into your archery season, this is one of those weeks you’ll want to catch up on.

📊 Major Insider System Drops This Week

The Insider Portal saw three big additions:

• Kill Zone Mapping System – This is the start of a full strategy series designed to teach how to identify, mark, and plan around high-odds ambush areas. More checklists and mapping tools are being added.
• Hunt Plan Builder – A simple but tactical framework to help you map out smart access, stand choice, wind, thermals, and backup plans before the hunt.
• 3-Hunt Plan System – This is how I balance risk, pressure, and opportunity when deciding where to hunt. Especially valuable in the rut or when time is limited.

All three of these are now live inside the Portal, and I’ll be adding downloadable tools to each one over the coming weeks.

📃 New Blog Posts Just Released

This week was all about syncing up the public blog with the updated Insider systems. Here’s what we pushed live:

• What’s a High Pin Setup? – A quick explainer for TAC shooters and hunters tuning sights for longer shots. Posted late, but still valuable for archers running adjustable multi-pins.
• What is Strategic Bow Hunting? – This post lays the groundwork for everything I teach inside the Insider Portal. If you want to understand my system, start here.
• Updated Season-Long Planning Guide – Now aligned with my Strategic Hunting philosophy. Great for organizing early to late season hunts around bedding, access, and pressure.
• Still Hunting: How to Be a Mobile and Adaptable Hunter – Refined with updated strategy examples and links to scouting and bedding systems.

Also added to the Insider Portal:

• Timing the Kill – A breakdown of when bucks move from beds and how to time it right. This supports both the 10-Year Study and the Kill Zone system.
